How to play DarkRP
Welcome! This is a guide for new or returning players to DarkRP. By no means is this a comprehensive guide (it would be far to long if it was), but this will cover basics of game-play and strategies to become a better player. So lets begin! DarkRP is a game mode set in a urban environment where you role-play your in-game characters life. Your main goal is to have fun interacting with other players in the world with you. You can purchase properties, make an income, steal from others, and much more.

Server Rules
First always touch up on the server rules before anything as they provide important information on what is and isn't allowed in-game. For the sake of this guide we will only be going off the rules for our server which can be found here or viewed in-game with the command "!motd" in chat.

DarkRP Dictionary (Common terms and phrases)
RDM - Stands for Random Deathmatch. Meaning killing a player without a explicit role play related reason. There's also MRDM (Mass Random Deathmatch) which is just killing multiple people with no reason.
RDA - Stands for Random Arrest. If you are a Civil Protection job and arrest someone with a valid reason or spam arrest, that is RDA.
NLR - Stands for New Life Rule meaning when you die you are a new person. For example, you get raided by someone. You decide to respawn and go back and kill them while they are still raiding you. This would violate NLR. It's important to check server rules to know where this applies.
Metagame - Using knowledge your character would not know in role play situations. Examples are figuring out someones job by using the scoreboard.
NITRP - (No intention to role-play)
FailRP - Failing to do specific role play related rules. Examples: if you were a Civil Protection job and arrest someone for being a Thief job that would be FailRP.
FearRP - Example: Player 1 comes up and robs player 2 at gunpoint. Player 2 then in fear of their life gives player 1 all of their money. This is a successful instance of FearRP.
